About
Ruhu-l Quran — Web edition
Version and technology
- Version: 1.0 · July 2026
- Technology: .NET 8 (LTS) · Blazor Web App (Interactive Server) · C#
- Database: SQL Server (Arabic texts stored as Unicode / NVARCHAR)
- The web application is read-only; no screen writes or edits any data.
Data sources
The texts in the application were transferred to SQL Server from databases compiled over many years in the desktop project. The content mainly covers the following sources:
- 13 translations (including Diyanet İşleri, Diyanet Vakfı, Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır, Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen, Suat Yıldırım, Sayyid Qutb, Mawdudi, and the English Pickthall / Shakir / Yusuf Ali),
- 65 commentaries (tafsir) (al-Tabari, al-Razi, al-Qurtubi, al-Baydawi, al-Zamakhshari, Ibn Kathir, al-Alusi, Ibn Ashur, al-Tabatabai, and many other classical and contemporary exegetes),
- 3 meaning-based commentaries and 6 i'rab commentaries,
- In addition, root, pattern and morphological data for every word, and the i'rab trees of the sentences.
The name and author of each source are shown next to the source on the relevant screens.
Fonts and licenses
- In traditional script mode, the primary font is Traditional Arabic. As it is a Windows system font without a web-font distribution license, it is not distributed with the application; it is used by name on systems where it is installed.
- For systems without Traditional Arabic, freely licensed fallbacks are used: Scheherazade New and Amiri (SIL Open Font License).
- A mushaf font is used for the Kufic / mushaf view.
